Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford was born in the United States. Ashford is an actress, singer and dancer. Her first performances on Broadway included in productions Wicked Legally Blonde and Hair. Her first Tony Award was given to her for the role of Essie Carmichael from You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh is a Tony Award winning actress as well as director, has spent the bulk of her professional career working with famous directors and actors both on stage and screen. Ashford will be next in the role of Kumail Nanjiani as part of the Hulu limited series Welcome to Chippendales from creator Robert Siegel premiering on November 22. Ashford's current film includes the Searchlight Pictures horror thriller Dust, starring alongside Sarah Paulson and Ebonmoss-Bachrach. The movie will air on Disney DTC as an Hulu Original. Also, she has been in Broadway on Sunday in the Park With George Wicked, Legally Blonde as well as the original role in the role of Lauren as Lauren in Kinky Boots for which she received a nomination for an Tony Award. Ashford was raised and born in Denver and currently splits the time in Los Angeles, and New York.
