Zoe-perry
Perry is the daughter of actors Laurie Metcalf, and Jeff Perry. The character Jackie Harris was played by her mother in both the two episodes she appeared on Roseanne. However, her parents were not keen to let her take on acting roles until she was an adult fearing the effect of stress. Perry stated she felt timid to perform in high school but began acting in theater classes at Northwestern University as a way to meet new people after she transferred to the university from Boston University. Perry following her graduation from Boston University moved to New York in search of television roles. Perry was able to land small roles in shows like Law & Order: Criminal Intent. Then, homelessness brought her back to California in search of theater jobs. She appeared on Broadway with her mother in The Other Place with her mother in 2013. In 2015, she appeared together with Kevin McKidd alongside her mother in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize-winning Drama Anna Christie. The Odyssey Theatre Ensemble is located in West Los Angeles. Perry played a role in 9 episodes of The Family, an ABC crime thriller The Family in 2016. In 2017 she had her own recurring part on her own ABC political thriller Scandal with her father. She was also cast in her role on the CBS comedy The Big Bang Theory spinoff Young Sheldon as a version younger of Mary Cooper, Sheldon Cooper's mother. She was cast in the role despite her close relationship with the character's family.
